The first part of his book he does an articulate description of his personality which goes to show how salvation changed him and opened his eyes in the second part of the book. Awesome book! This book is not an easy one to read, and I don't mean that in a literary way. Well done for that. No, what I mean is that it asks a lot from the reader, as far as believing and accepting it as a true story is concerned. You'd have to be particularly open-minded to do so, and it is admittedly much easier for those who already are believers to accept, though I'm sure many "Christians" would take issue with it. I This book is not an easy one to read, and I don't mean that in a literary way.
I can understand people's reluctance to believe Peter is telling the truth here; after all, the devil has indeed done a great job at dismissing the notion of his existence as a joke, nonsense, or simply the stuff of fantasy, and nothing short of a personal experience of some significance would shake that belief.
But I do believe Peter is telling the truth and that what he recounts did happen. And I feel even more convinced when I see him at work as a full-time Christian preacher, using this testimony to open people's eyes to the truth. God does exist and He does love us very much. At the same time, Satan also exists and he hates us and wants us destroyed, simply because God rejected him and loves us the way He does.
It is that simple. To the unrepentant unbeliever, Peter is nothing but a liar and opportunist, but you have not thought it through. If Peter really is a believer and follower of Christ, there is no way he would conjure up a big lie like this or even be deluded enough to do so. Only someone who knows, loves and follows Jesus as Peter does, would be able to recognise that.
And if Peter was really just a fake believer, using the whole thing to get rich which I'm sure doesn't come to happen simply with a published bookthere is no way he would come up with a message as complex and deep as he has in this book. Again, only another believer would be able to recognise God's work and message in Peter's words, or lack thereof.
I am convinced in this books authenticity and am glad Peter shared it with the world. I cried several times while reading it, and it was always when I witnessed God's love for this man manifesting through other people. God loves all of us that way.
